Mill, SC and Rock Hill, SC.   Lique previously worked under FrickTrent, PLLC Partner, Tracy Frick, for the real estate law firm of Trey Inman and Associates from 2007-2008. Valerie B. Gefert named Associate Attorney for Charlotte Location August 1, 2013

Valerie B. Gefert has been named Associate Attorney for Charlotte Location of FrickTrent, PLLC.  Miss. Gefert was raised  outside Cleveland, Ohio before traveling south to study pre-law and compete in track and cross country at the University of Kentucky.  She completed her undergraduate education at Cleveland State University, graduating with degrees in both Political Science and Organizational Communications.   Valerie attended Capital University Law School in Columbus, Ohio with an academic scholarship, and was a member of the national law school fraternity, Phi Beta Sci.    While in school, she was a co-host and organizer of a benefit to raise money for the local shelter for victims of domestic violence.  Upon graduating with her Juris Doctor in 2008, Valerie quickly left the cold Ohio weather behind and moved to Charlotte, North Carolina to begin her legal career.  She continued her work supporting victims of domestic violence here in Charlotte, and spent several years in family law and litigation before redirecting the focus of her practice to residential and commercial real estate.  Valerie joined FrickTrent, PLLC in July of 2013 and oversees residential and commercial real estate closings, as well as marketing to develop and grow the firm's North Carolina office.   read more

Chanelle A. Blackie, Esquire named Associate Attorney at FrickTrent, PLLC April 9, 2013

Chanelle A. Blackie, Esq. was born in Long Beach, CA, but moved to Sarasota, FL where she was raised.  Chanelle attended the University of Miami, FL and received her undergraduate degree in Finance.  Upon graduating, Chanelle attended The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law in Washington DC.  Chanelle held various leadership responsibilities throughout her time in law school including Executive Editor of the  Catholic University Law Review and Treasurer of the Delta Theta Phi law fraternity. She also served as a Student Attorney for the Families and the Law Clinic, where she represented victims of domestic violence.  In addition to her law school responsibilities, Chanelle obtained valuable out of the classroom experience by working as a clerk for Judge Patricia A. Broderick of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia and for the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office. Chanelle is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association and joined FrickTrent, PLLC in 2012.   read more

Partner at FrickTrent PLLC is named a judge for the 2012-2013 National Appellate Advocacy Competition March 4, 2013

Charlotte, NC - Well-known local attorney, Tracy Frick, partner at the real estate law practice of FrickTrent, PLLC, has been named a judge in the American Bar Association's 2012-2013 National Appellate Advocacy Competition (NAAC) in Washington DC."It is indeed an honor to serve as a judge on the panel in this prestigious competition for law students across the country. I was once one of the entrants in this competition and was lucky enough to be placed, so it's important to me to be able to give back to the American Bar Association by giving of my time to study the entries for this competition,"says Ms. Frick. Ms. Frick will travel to DC later this month to deliberate on the entries at the E.Barrett Prettyman Federal Courthouse in the heart of Washington DC. Entrants will be judged on a number of criteria for the awards in the American Bar Association's DC Moot Court Competition. They include, Substantive Content of Argument; Knowledge of the Record; Extemporaneous Ability and Courtroom Demeanor and Professionalism. Tracy Frick is a member of the SC Bar and serves on the Boards of various non-profit organizations including Collaborative Arts Theater Charlotte, Union County 4H Foundation, and is the  past President of the Appalachian School of Law Alumni Association.  read more

Partner at FrickTrent, PLLC passes away in the Turks & Caicos Islands July 26, 2012

Statement from Ms. Tracy Frick, Partner at FrickTrent, PLLC: Charlotte, NC, Thursday July 26, 2012 -  It is with the deepest regret and great sadness that we mourn the untimely passing of our dear friend, partner and boss, Jeffrey Trent. Jeff was doing what he loved most - vacationing and experiencing new places and cultures around the world. He passed away in the Turks & Caicos Islands in the Caribbean on or about Monday July 23, 2012. We are still unclear of the exact details of this occurrence and are actively working with the US State Department in this regard, which is our only recourse in this situation. We have been unable to obtain any details from the local authorities in the Turks & Caicos, but we are hoping that the US State Department will intervene and come to our assistance to answer the critical questions of the circumstances surrounding this tragic event, for ourselves and his family. He was dearly loved by his immediate family, his many friends, clients and his FrickTrent, PLLC family, and will be sorely missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing and working with him.
